Answer» Hi!
I have a desktop PC which is connected to my cable modem.
I am interested in purchasing a laptop (equipped with wireless CAPABILITY) and was wondering if anyone knew what I WOULD have to do to get wireless internet access on my laptop from my cable modem connected to my desktop. Would i have to purchase a Wireless BROADBAND Router? Would this even work? I am not sure if I should buy the laptop and the wireless router only to find out that I cannot access the internet wirelessly through my cable modem at home.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Yes. That's the whole idea. You need to buy a Wireless router. Make sure you get one that is designed for cable modems. The lower market ones are not too expensive (£30) and are really easy to install. If your laptop is "equipped with wireless capability" then it should pick up the signal. If not you need to buy a Wireless Network ADAPTOR to pick up a signal. A lot of routers here in the UK COME with a free Wireless Network Adaptor.
