Solve : wireless question?

Answer»

can the wireless part of a computer go bad? I have my router hooked to my desktop and the wireless isn't working so I can access the internet in the rest of the house. I switched routers and same problem. Internet company says router is bad. I have internet on desktop and anything that I can hook up to it Ethernet CABLE. Help please.Yes they like all PC components do go bad...but it doesn't MAKE sense the same happened with another router...
More details...I don't have any more details. I had a netgear router on it this morning and no wireless. I didn't get any messages or anything, just no net. My desktop which is wired direct has internet. I called net company and was told wireless went out of router, I switched routers and same problem. Net company says all is connected and running well on their end. So now I am lost. When you switched routers did you remember to go to the wireless connection wizard in Control Panel and set up a new connection to test ? ?
If not that explains why it didn't work...at any rate i suspect the Netgear is dead except for direct connectionsThe wireless light on router doesn't come on. On which router ? ?
You NEED to start being more specific with your replies...especially if we are gonna troubleshoot a networking issue...On either router when each is hooked up. Right now I have a 2wire router hooked up and no light, or wireless.Re-install the router software and re-set everything from square 1You have to configure your router, read the manual of router and look for wireless configuration page. You may safely ignore the above post
