The drive will not copy pictures anymore.  I have put disks into E and F, when I go to "My Computer"  it shows that the disk is in the drive.  When I pull up the Wizard to copy pix, it says to insert disk,"no disk in drive"         If I'm in the wrong forum let me knowHave you tried using CD Cleaning Disk in drive? DIRTY drives can act like thisSo as i UNDERSTAND it you have 2 optical drives (both capable of cd burning) correct? The fact that you are having the same problem with both of them makes it highly unlikely that the issue is hardware related. I doubt that cleaning them will change anything.
  The 1st thing i would like you to try is to download the free software CD Burner XP.

  Then i would like you to try and burn something using that program and report back. If you have access to another computer and can temporarily install the optical drives into that computer to try them (remembering to set the pins to slave). Do them one at a time. It is not necessary to install them into an optical drive bay to do the test. Only do this procedure if the software i have suggested does not work.
  What is the software program you are currently trying to burn with? Anything yellow in "DEVICE manager"? From the point where they stopped working had you changed anything software/hardware in your computer IMMEDIATELY prior? truenorth
