Computer was working fine, the electricity in my neighborhood went out, once it came back on the computer will not start. When you push the power button it lights up blue and constantly blinking and as long as you hold the button in you can hear the hard drive etc powering up but as soon as you let let go of the button it's off. I have completely removed the power connection for a few MINTUES and held the power button on for 30 seconds but that didn't work.Given that this is a desktop computer you may RECOVER relatively easily (and probably not too expensively). You do not MENTION that you have a back up power supply device as part of your system. Assuming you do not then the most likely affected component of the computer is the power supply. If you have access to a power supply unit of equal or greater capacity i would suggest that you TRY that 1st. If your lucky the replacement will work then you simply need to purchase a compatible power supply unit. All this can readily done by yourself. Always ENSURE that the unit is unplugged when doing any of this and whatever you do do NOT open the power supply units in any attempt to try and fix it. truenorth
