Solve : Writing OO verses FF?

Wondering what the pros and cons of this is.

Writing all 00 to a HARDRIVE instead of having;
00 on the FIRST million sectors and only like the last 300
leaving FF in inbetween.

To my understanding this is DONE at the factory a quick Flash test.
