Solve : xfx geforce 8800 problems connection to a 32" Lcd?

Answer»

Hi

I hope someone can help me out here because i have spent the biggest part of today trying to work it out. I have just upgraded my card from a Geforce 7800 gt to the xfx Geforce 8800 GTS.

The problem i have is when i connect this to my 32" LG LCD telivision using dvi, all the icons on the desktop are over lapping, in other words the screen size doesn't fit it is to big. I have tried a number of resolutions but none work.

my old graphics card works fine. I made sure i uninstalled the drivers of the old card and got the LATEST for the new ONE, but still KNOW joy. There is also no setting on my Lcd television that allows me to shrink the screen, but like my old Graphics card, it should just detect the size automatic. I would really appreciate any help Thanks!the tv resolution is 1366 x 768

the maximum resolution for that card is 2560 x 1600

try changing the xfx Geforce 8800 GTs to the tv's display resolution Tried it, but its still the same. Here's an UPDATE I just did a windows reinstall to rule out it been windows and its still the same. 2 computers work fine on that LCD using dvi, but not this new graphics card. So can somone tell me what could be wrong with the card. It has 2 dvi plugs and i have tried both, but still no joy. Unless someone else here has some good news (advice), might consider calling XFX Mfg and see if you can speak to tech support and tell them the exact problem you posted?? Never know, maybe they might have a solution, sorry couldn't help but good luck ...Hi
Ok, maybe somone could help me another way. Can somone tell me, if this had been a normal computer Lcd and not a 32" television Lcd, would i be able to move the screen to fit. Like on the CTR monitors.
