Answer» Advertisments in movies. I mean, you get really excited about a movie, and when you watch it, there are ten thousand ads in the beginning of the movie. First they appear before the menu, then it repeats after you press the "Play" button. FOX knows of an even better way to p*ss off viewers, by putting advertisments HALF WAY THROUGH THE MOVIE, saying "watch on FOX." It spoils it for everybody. You know what sucks?A vacuum cleaner! It spoils it for everybody. They put ads in the middle of a DVD movie? Thankfully they don't do that here. Man I WOULD be pissed if I ever bought a movie with an ad in the middle. I think I would take a road trip to the publisher to get my money back. I don't mind the trailers (much) but I really hate the "Don't download this movie" anti-piracy ads I get on many DVDs now. Seriously, I just bought the freaking thing so don't go telling me about not downloading it! If I had downloaded it I'm pretty sure this ad would have been removed by the ripper anyway. Something I also do when I make backups of my movies, just to spite the man. I really hate this EVERYONE are guilty until proven innocent attitude from the the whole media industry.Quote from: Deerpark on February 02, 2008, 07:09:15 AM Quote from: dairyman on February 01, 2008, 11:42:23 PMFOX knows of an even better way to p*ss off viewers, by putting advertisments HALF WAY THROUGH THE MOVIE, saying "watch <insert name of show> on FOX." At the beginning, somewhere where it says "do not copy this movie blah blah blah", it says "SAVE OUR WORKERS, SAVE THE EARTH", which was really what the movie was about. On the television, ads dont really seem to bug me. We have DVR... I dont download movies over the internet though, that just bugs me... besides, the files would be too big. In the movie theater, the trailers for other movies before the actual movie doesnt bug me in the slightest, as long as they arent boring. Quote In the movie theater, the trailers for other movies before the actual movie doesnt bug me in the slightest, as long as they arent boring. that is not the case with me. i get ticked off by being bombarded with movie trailers, popcorn/candy ADDS from the movie theatre, and ads for random useless products. in my eyes, the amount of advertising that is crammed down my throat should more then pay for my ticket in the movie.Quote from: dairyman on February 02, 2008, 07:09:32 PM Yep, they sure do. It appears in The Simpsons Movie.Umm the ad you're talking about... is that a scrolling text at the bottom of the screen saying "Watch "Are you smarter than a CELEBRITY?" - Wednesdays on FOX. That's right, we even advertise shows during movies now." That's not a real ad, it the Simpsons making fun of FOX and their advertising. Are you smarter than a celebrity isn't a real show. The Simpsons are always making fun of FOX. So anything you see on a Simpsons DVD isn't the work of FOX but the Simpsons crew having a laugh at FOX expense. That is pretty d**n long. So whenever I go to the movies I arrive when the movie is set to start. When I've bought my popcorn and such I'm usually just in time for the trailers which is the last thing before the movie begins. My memory is bad...i love the ads. they make the whole thing worthwhile. i watch the ads, then watch the shows they advertise, and then i can watch the ads on those shows too! they just keep providing me with ads I'm from the old school of movie going. I hate to go to the theater and not see a Looney Toon cartoon before the movie starts. Kwazy Wabbit!http://www.google.com/intl/xx-elmer/That's neat Zylstra.............Kwazy Zywesta....huh huh huh |
