Answer» hi, i am a student currently in a games media course. i would like to link my guitar up to my pc, and record each sound, so when someone plays that sound. An action happens on the screen.
can anyone help please!!!!!!
dan I'm wondering how many people connect their guitar to a PC? Anyway, since this project is for a course you're taking, I think you should really be seeking that knowledge from that course. If such a technique really falls within the realm of that class, I'd think the information on how to do it would be available in the materials normally used for such a class. And, if it's a project that requires independent research, I think you may not find MUCH help in most computing forums, due to the very unusual and specialized nature of your project.Well, hooking up your guitar is the easy part. You can just use your NORMAL amp cable and add a mic jack converter to the end of it, which you can get at RadioShack for less than $5. This is all I have to do to hook up a guitar to my computer and start recording with it. As for using the recorded sounds to cause certain actions to happen...I IMAGINE SOMETHING like that would take a bit more know-how, if it's even possible...Hey. This was way back on pg 3 so I don't know if you'll be back but...

I'm sure it's quite handy, but I wouldn't advise shelling out $40 when this can be done for NEXT to nothing.
