Answer» SOLUTION :The binding energy per nucleon decreases with increase in mass NUMBER for heavy nuclei like `" "_(92)^(235)U`. These nuclei contain a large number of protons which repel one another. As a result of this REPULSIVE force value of B.E. per nucleon decreases with increase in mass number and such heavier NUCLIDES are unstable.
