Both the statements individually TRUE and Statement II is the correct explanation of Statement I.
Both the statements are individually true but Statement II is not correct explanation of Statement I.
Statement I is true but Statement II is false .
Statement I is false but Statement II is true .

Solution :Copper sulphate is normally FOUND in the FORM of blue crystals , copper (II) sulphate pentahydrate . When you HEAT copper sulphate pentahydrate it turns white as the water which is driven off by the heat . The white SOLID remaining is anhydrous copper sulphate . If you add water to the anhydrous copper sulphate an exothermic reaction occurs , you can feel the test-tube getting hot , as the blue copper sulphate pentahydrate is re-formed .
