When ozone reacts with EXCESS of POTASSIUM iodide solution BUFFERED with a borate buffer (pH 9.2), iodine is LIBERATED which can be titrated against a standard solution of sodium thiosulphate. `O_3 + 2I^(-) + H_2O to O_2 + I_2 + 2OH^(-)` This is how ozone is quantitatively estimated. |
