SOLUTION :During BAKING, baking SODA present in baking powder induces bitter taste and YELLOW colour to breads and cakes due to the alkaline nature of its aqueous solution. To neutralize bitter taste of alkaline taste and to remove yellow colour, tartaricacid is USED.
