The aqueous solution of sugar does not conduct electricity whereas when sodium chloride is added to water, it conducts electricity. Justify this statement. |

Answer» Solution :`**` SUGAR is a non electrolyte and when it dissoves in water, there will be no ionisation takes PLACE . If there is no FREE ions, it does not conduct electricity. `**` When sodium chloride is added to water, it is completely ionised to give `Na^(+)` ions and `Cl^(-)` ions. DUE to the presence of ions, they will be possibility of electrical conductance. Becuase ions are carriers of electric current. |
