The Revolt 1857 became successful.

Answer» <p>The revolt of 1857 was a failure and it even fails the definition of First war of independence.</p><p>It was a localised revolt covering not even 10% of India's geography and population.</p><p>I will give few facts and reasons along with historical issues behind this revolt.</p><p>A. Seeds of revolt was born the day Wajid Ali Shah was removed from the throne of Awadh.</p><p>B. Around the same time Britush refused to recognise Nana Sahib as next Peshwas at Bittur and adopted son of Laxmibai as future ruler of Jhansi.</p><p>C. After removing Wajid Ali Shah they had disbanded his army so the rural areas of Awadh were teeming with armed unemployed soldiers of the army.</p><p>D. After taking over Awadh the British made their ideas clear to introduce Land Reforms which will break hold of hereditary landed gentry the TALOOKDARSon land ownership and collecting taxes from the farmers who toiled the land.</p><p>E. One of the important instigator and planner for revolt was Moulvi of Faizabad Ahmadullah who is said to be father of Chappati relay from village to village in Awadh, instigating the fellow TALOOKDARS and villagers to get ready and prepare foe revolt.</p>
