1.

The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 2:3:4. the longest side is 20 cm more than the shortest side. calculate the length of all three sides.

Answer»

Answer.

LET the SIDES of the TRIANGLE be AB, BC and AC

AB =2x

BC= 3x

AC =4x

AC = 20 + AB

=20 + 4x

AB^2+BC^2=AC^2

2x^2 + 3x^2 = (20+4x)^2

=20^2 +2×20×4x +4x^2 + 4x^2
