Given : x + y = 18 -----------(1) x - y = 4 -----------(2) On adding EQUATION (1) and (2), we get x+y+x-y = 18+4 ➡ 2x= 22 ➡ x = 22/2 ➡ x = 11 Now, put the value of x in equation (1) ➡x + y = 18 ➡11 + y = 18 ➡ y = 18-11 ➡ y = 7 Therefore, the age of subbu = x = 11 years.
