To find :

  • The numbers

Solution :

  • Let the FIRST even number be x
  • Let the SECOND even number be x + 2
  • Let the third even number be x + 4

And also Given that, the sum of three consecutive even number is 54 so ,

According To Question,

⇢ x + x + 2 + x + 4 = 54

⇢ 3x + 6 = 54

⇢ 3x = 54 - 6

⇢ 3x = 48

⇢ x = 48/3

⇢ x = 16

Then ,

  • First even number = x = 16
  • Second even number = x + 2 = 16 + 2 = 18
  • Third even number = x + 4 = 16 + 4 = 20

Hence , The three consecutive even numbers are 16 , 18 and 20
