To explain I would say: The tides are rhythmic but not constant. They do not occur on a regular DAILY SCHEDULE. Their occurrence is DUE to balance of FORCES, mainly the gravitational force of the moon but ALSO that of the sun, both acting together with that of earth to balance the centrifugal force on the water to the earth’s rotation.
