In `beta-`decay a neutron converts in to a proton with the ejection of an electron and ANTINEUTRINO. Here atomic number INCREASES by 1 unit while mass number remains the same. `gamma-` decay is the emission of `gamma`-RAY photons by an excited nucleus. |
