Answer»

Let salary of A, B and C be RS. A, Rs. B and Rs. C respectively.

Given,

⇒ A + B + C = 86000

Given,

Salary of A is 40% less than salary of B.

⇒ A = B - B × (40/100)

⇒ A = 3B/5

Salary of C is Rs. 5000 less than salary of B.

⇒ C = B - 5000

Solving equation,

⇒ 3B/5 + B + B - 5000 = 86000

⇒ 13B - 25000 = 86000

⇒ 13B = 455000

⇒ B = 35000

Salary of A = 35000 × 3/5 = 21000

Salary of C = 35000 - 5000 = 30000

Required percentage

= (21000/30000) × 100

= 70%

∴ Salary of A is 70% of salary of C.
