Answer» SOLUTION :In PARAMAGNETIC SUBSTANCE more FIELD lines pass on placing the substance in a magnetic field because RELATIVE permeability `mu_(r)` of it is greater than 1 and the substance experiences a feeble force of attraction. In diamagnetic substance lesser number of field lines pass through the substance when placed in a magnetic field because for it `mu_(r) lt 1` and the substance experiences a feeble force of repulsion.
