Two poles 8m and 16m high stand up right on the road. if their feet are 15 m apart from the, find the distance between their tops.please find the answer in MATH |
Answer» Given
To Find:-
Solution:-Let the height of the first pole be AB = 8m And height of the season pole be DC = 16m • AC = 15m Let us draw a line BE perpendicular to CD. i.e BE ⊥CD And, AC ⊥ DC So, BE = AC = 15m And, AB = EC = 8m Now:-
⟹DE=16−8 ⟹DE=8m In△BED By APPLYING Pythagoras Theorem:- BD²= 8²+15² BD² = 64 + 225 BD =√289 = 17 ∴Distance between their tops = 17m |
