two wires of length 8 centimetre are there one is to form a square and one is to form a circle which one has more area |
|
Answer» Given LENGTH is 8cm when there is REQUIREMENT of a circle then the length of the WIRE (8cm) would become the circumference of circle
So, Circumference of circle = 8cm 2πr = 8 2×22/7×R = 8 44/7×r = 8 r = 8 × 7/44 r = 14/11 r = 1.27 cm Area of circle = πr^2 => 22/7 × (1.27)^2 = 22/7 × 1.61 = 5.06cm^2 is the area of circle Now, in the case of square the length of the wire would be DIVIDED into 4 equal parts so as to get the length of the sides of square. length of each side of square = 8/4 = 2cm So, Area of square = (side)×(side) = 2×2 = 4cm^2 This means that the Circle has more area as compared to square's area. |
