Answer» Answer :Straw is not a ray ! Note that the straw has a LATERAL SHIFT as well as a BEND. ACTUALLY , the rays from the straw reach our eyes after refraction from the water and the apparent DEPTH of different parts of the straw is different from its actual value. So, the straw appears to be bent.
