Answer»

SOLUTION :Certain SUBSTANCES when added shows different colours in acidic and basic solutions. Such substances undergo COLOUR change at the neutralisation point which indicates the complete neutralisation and hence are called indicators. Certain naturally occurring substances can also act as indicators as they change colour according to the nature of substance.
Example: Red cabbage juice.
The other indicators used are litmus, methyl orange and phenolphthalein.
