Issues satirised in this play :

1. Fault finding nature of people in this country A priest has nothing to do with the novel but condemns Manjula saying that she is disloyal to the Kannada language. Some people say that Manjula has betrayed Kannada while some other say that she has greed for wealth.

2. Prying in others private or the most individual affairs The acute questioning of image on Manjula’s private matters reveals this fact.

3. Ambiguity and ambivalance Announcer and Manjula both declare that a telefilm made on Kannada translated version of her novel is shortly being displayed but it is not done. Again we see a sharp difference between Manjula’s statements before screen and that she says to her image.

मुद्दे जिन पर व्यंग्य किया गया है –

1. इस देश में लोगों द्वारा दोषारोपण की प्रवृत्ति – पुजारी को उपन्यास से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है परन्तु वह मंजुला की यह कहकर निन्दा करता है कि मंजुला कन्नड़ भाषा के प्रति बेईमान है। कुछ व्यक्ति कहते हैं कि मंजुली ने कन्नड़ के साथ विश्वासघात किया है जबकि कुछ लो। कहते हैं कि वह धन के प्रति लालची है।

2. दूसरे लोगों के व्यक्तिगत मामलों में दखल देना – प्रतिमा द्वारा तीक्ष्ण प्रश्न पूछना मंजुला के व्यक्तिगत मामलों के बारे में इस तथ्य को उजागर करता है।

3. संदेह और दोगलेपन की आदत- उद्घोषक और मंजुला दोनों घोषणा करते हैं कि कुछ ही समय में कन्नड़ भाषा में अनुवादित उपन्यास की फिल्म दिखाई जाएगी परन्तु इसे नहीं दिखाया जाता है। मंजुला के पर्दे के सामने के भाषण और जो वह प्रतिमा के सामने कहती है, उनमें अन्तरे दिखाई देता है।
