Swami’s mother is a typical mother found in most Indian families. Mostly mothers are tender and softhearted. So is Swami’s mother. She doesn’t like Swami suffering due to the commanding attitude of her husband. She doesn’t like her husband’s idea of forcing Swami to sleep alone in the office room in complete darkness. She suggests that he can sleep in the hall. She is quite a self respecting woman. She protests when her husband indirectly stuns that his son is not being properly brought up. She asserts herself in the end and prevents her husband from waking him up as he is sleeping beside his granny. She loses her temper and says, “You let him sleep where he likes. You needn’t risk his life again.”

स्वामी की माँ अधिकांश भारतीय परिवारों में पायी जाने । वाली माँ की तरह ही है। अधिकांश माँ संवेदनशील तथा कोमल हृदय की होती हैं। वह अपने पति के आदेशात्मक दृष्टिकोण से स्वामी को कष्ट होते नहीं देखना चाहती थी। वह अपने पति के इस विचार में कि स्वामी कार्यालय-कक्ष के अंधकार भरे कमरे में अकेले सोए, पसंद नहीं करती। वह सुझाव देती है कि वह हॉल में सो सकता है। वह एक आत्म-सम्मान । वाली महिला है। वह प्रतिवाद करती है जब उसके पति यह कहते हैं कि अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से इस बात से हक्का-बक्का रह जाते हैं कि उसके पुत्र का पालन-पोषण सही तरीके से नहीं हुआ। अंत में, वह अपने आपको दृढ़ बनाती है तथा अपने पति को अपनी दादी के बगल में सोए स्वामी को जगाने से मना करती है। वह अपना आपा खो बैठती है तथा कहती है-वह जहाँ चाहता है, उसे वहाँ साने दो। तुम्हें उसके जीवन को पुन: खतरे में डालने की जरूरत नहीं है।
