Answer» Solution :Copper matte is OBTAINED when the copper ore is heated in a REVERBERATORY furnace after mixing with silica. Iron oxide froms a SLAG of iron silicate by COMBINING with silica. Copper is produced in the form of copper matte. This contains `Cu_(2)S` and FeS.
