Solution : Heat of adsorption. It is the heat CHANGE that takes place when 1 mole of a substance gets adsorbed on the surface of another substance.
Effect of TEMPERATURE
(a) Physical adsorption. The extent of adsorption DECREASES with the increase in temperature, because the process of adsorption is exothermic and does not require appreciable energy of activation.

(B) Chemical adsorption . It is an exothermic process but REQUIRES energy of activation .Therefore the extent ofadsorption first inreases and then decreases as the temperature increases
