A nucleoside is formed by the attachment of a base to position of sugar. 

Nucleoside = Sugar + Base 

 A nucleotide is formed by all the three basic components of nucleic acids (i.e., pentose sugar, phosphoric acid, and base).

Nucleotide = Sugar + Base + Phosphoric acid
