It was proposed by Pierre de Coubertin upon the creation of the International Olympic Committee in 1894. Olympic Motto : The Olympic Motto is “Citius, Altius, Fortius” which means to perform for the fastest, highest and strongest resources and also specific training for enhanced competence and development of their skills. In order to identify, nurture and develop talents amongst students in sports and games, it is in the best interests of the nation that the students pursuing and exhibiting merit and talent in various disciplines in sports are recognized and supported through financial support in the form of award/ scholarship.Hence, it was felt that the talents in sports must be identified at the school level and they must be nurtured and groomed by also giving them monetary support & in the year 2005 the Board introduced Chacha Nehru Sports Award for its sporting talents selected on the basis of their performance during the various CBSE Inter School Sports & Games Competitions. |
