What Is The Role Of Router? |

Answer» A router routes the packets between two networks. It READS the INFORMATION in each packet to determine where it is going. If the packet is destined for an immediate network to which it has access, then it strips the outer packet, readdresses the packet to the proper Ethernet address, and transmits it on that network. If the packet is destined for ANOTHER network, then it re-packages the outer packet and SENDS it to the NEXT router. A router routes the packets between two networks.
