1.

What precautions should a consumer take at the time of making purchase?

Answer»

It is the responsibility of the consumer that he/she should be vigilant while making any purchase so that he/she can save himself/herself from the exploitation of the seller.

Normally, a consumer should take the following precautions while making a purchase:

1. He/she should always take and preserve the receipt of the purchase of a commodity when buying it, and also keep the guarantee/warrantee card.

2. One should see the name, batch number, production and expiry date, price and name of the producer on the commodity while buying it.

3. One must also see whether the commodity has an ISI, AGMARK, FPO or any other standardization mark, etc.

4. One must also take care that the measures or weights being used are standardized.

5. The weight of the packing must not be included in the weight of the product sold.

6. Nowadays, the producers/sellers resort to high style publicity to sell their products. The consumers are often misled by these publicity gimmicks and buy things that are of low quality not on par. Consumers should be aware of such advertisements and buy goods only after careful selection. Administration must verify such fake and false big promises to save consumers.
