Solution :FERROMAGNETIC SUBSTANCES MAKE better permanent magnets. Metal ions in ferromagnetic substance are grouped into small regions called domains. Each domain acts as a tiny magnet. These domains are oriented in a random manner. When placed in a magnetic field, these domains or tiny magnets get oriented in the direction of the magnetic field and a strong magnetic effect is produced. The effect persists even after removal of magnetic field. This BEHAVIOUR is not EXPECTED from ferrimagnetic substances.
