1.

When a gas filled in a closed vessel is heated through 1°C, its pressure increases by 0.4%. what is the initial temperature of the gas?

Answer»

P' = P + \(\frac{0.4}{100}P\)

T' = T + 1

By Gay Lussac’s law,

\(\frac{P}{T}=\frac{P'}{T'}\)

\(\frac{P}{T}=\frac{[P+{\frac{0.4}{100}P'}]}{T+1}\)

On solving,

T = 250 K
