It aims to increase forest cover, protect wetlands and other waterbodies in Tamil Nadu.The objectives are conservation of biodiversity, wildlife, rehabiliation and restoration of degraded forests, coastal ecosystem conservation etc. The policy includes engagement of local tribal communities in protection, conservation and wildlife management.
