Answer» Solution :For the PREPARATION of ALKYL halides in the laboratory, free radical HALOGENATION of alkanes is not a suitable method since it results in the formation of many ISOMERIC monosubstituted products through substitution of different KINDS of hydrogen atoms. Moreover, poly halogenation may also take place.
