Why aniline is weaker base than cyclohexylamine?

Answer»

SOLUTION :The lone PAIR of electrons on nitrogen in aniline is delocalized due to resonance with benzene ring. THUS, electron density on `-NH_2` group in aniline is DECREASED. There is no such effect in cyclohexylamine. Therefore, aniline is a WEAKER base than cyclohexylamine.
