Why does a charged particle moving at right angle to the direction of magnetic field follow a circular path ? |
|
Answer» Explanation.
Because when the charged particles MOVE at RIGHT angle to the direction of MAGNETIC field, it EXPERIENCES force which ALWAYS acts perpendicular to the velocity. Hence, the magnitude of its velocity remains constant and only the direction of velocity of the charged particles changes. In other words, the force on the charged particle act as centripetal force and it follows a circular path. |
