On the occasion of Republic Day, we were given a holiday from school. So, all our colony friends and parents decided to go to the Zoo after attending the flag HOISTING in our schools. We booked a minivan and about 20 of us started on a picnic to the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad. At the zoo, we booked INDIVIDUAL ELECTRIC cars so that we could visit every animal section at ease as it was a huge place and the elders could not WALK much distance. We saw the white tiger, the BENGAL tiger, a couple of bears, a giraffe, a turtle land, a reptile land with many types of snakes, crocodiles, many different species of birds, ostriches, emus, elephants. We also went on a Lion safari and saw many lions in the open. After the safari ride, we all sat in the garden and had our packed lunches. We then left back in our van in the evening at closing time. It was a memorable picnic and we all had so much fun.
