| Answer» The Process of Political Socialization: The sociological hypothesis of political socialization is motivated by socialization. Socialization is a process by which a person enters the social and cultural world and after that he/she takes part in different activities of society or groups. By socialization, a person moves forward to accept the social values and social relations. Political socialization is that process by which understanding of politics develops in human. Besides it, an outlook towards political life and political methods develops in him/her. In other words, it can be said that political socialization is a tool of transferring political culture from one generation to other. According to Herbert Simon : “Political socialization which is a part of the process of complete knowledge, gives us knowledge regarding the political system. This includes the knowledge regarding persons, events, policies and requirements.” According to Kawanadya : “Political socialization is the word which describes the process by which an individual gets knowledge about politics.” According to Amond and Powell : “Political socialization is that process through which entrance is done in political culture and motivations are made to get political objectives.” The purpose of political socialization is to train the people regarding political system and to develop a political sense so that they could help in proper functioning of political system. The process of political socialization is conducted in the following manner : 1. The children and other members of family get the education of political socialization from the head and other senior members of the family. Usually the children of the family like that political party which is appreciated by senior members of the family. 2. Students get education of political socialization in their schools. Friends, teachers, books etc. play an important role in political socialization. 3. The ideologies of political parties affect and propagate the process of political socialization. 4. National symbols too contribute for political socialization. 5. Different means of communication play very important role in propagation of political socialization. It is clear that political socialization affects the political system and political culture is decided by political socialization. | |
