1.	Write the equations involved in the preparation of phenol from cumene.
Answer» SOLUTION :PREPARATION of phenol from CUMENE. Cumene (isopropyl benzene) is oxidesed in the presence of air to give cumene hydroperoxide. It is CONVERTED into phenol and acetone by treating with DILUTE acid. This process is called as cumenes process.
