Write the equations of motion for a freely falling body. Also, write the meaning of symbols used in the equations. |
Answer» Equations of motion of an object under free fall: The initial velocity of the object remains zero when the object is under free fall. In this situation, the three equations of motion i.e. v = u + gt s = ut + gt v2 = u2 + \(\frac{1}{2}\) gt2 v2 = u2 + 2gh will become, ν = gt s = \(\frac{1}{2}\)gt2 and v2 = 2gh Here, u = final velocity, t = time, g = acceleration due to gravity, h = height attained by the body. |
