The floating balloon, however, isn’t touching the car. It’s only floating in the air, which is not moving at the same speed as the car. If it were, we would feel a breeze. So the car is still moving forward and the balloon stays floating in the air. The car simply moves forward leaving the balloon behind, and it gets trapped at the rear of the car.
