p(x) = x² - 3x - 4

For Zero of p(x) we have

p(x) = 0

⇒ x² - 3x - 4 = 0

⇒ x² - 4x + x - 4 = 0

⇒ ( x - 4) (x + 1) = 0

Now x - 4 = 0 gives x = 4

x + 1 = 0 gives x = - 1

Hence two zeros are - 1 & 4
