In 3 moles of ethane (c2H6) calculate the following : Number of molecules of ethane |
| Answer» No. of moles= 3No. of molecules of ethane in 1mole=6.022*10²³Therefore, no. of molecules of ethane in 3 moles =6.022 * 10²³ * 3moles=18.066 * 10²³=1.8066 * 10²⁴ | |

What are the short comings of Wurtz reaction???... |
|
Answer» yes my friend The Wurtz reaction is limited to the synthesis of symmetric alkanes. If two dissimilar alkyl halides are taken as reactants, then the product is a mixture of alkanes that is, often, difficult to separate as the difference in boiling point would be very low in these cases therefore distillation wouldn\'t work. Also, since the reaction involves free radical species, a side reaction occurs to produce an alkene. This side-reaction becomes more significant when the alkyl halides are bulky at the halogen-attached carbon. This is because the activation energy required becomes significantly high, so the alternate elimination mechanism is favoured. That\'s why you should only use primary alkyl halides for the reaction. otherwise use a reagent in which the tertiary or secondary carbon is attached with sodium metal. |

What is Bohr magnetum? |
|
Answer» The Bohr magneton (symbol μB) is a physical constant and the natural unit for expressing the magnetic moment of an electron caused by either its orbital or spin angular momentum. unit of magnetic moment (the product of a magnet\'s pole strength and the distance between its poles) used in the study of subatomic particles. The Bohr magneton, named for the 20th-century Danish physicist Niels Bohr, is equal to about 9.274 × 10 −21 erg per gauss per particle. |

What is hyberdisation? |
|
Answer» Intermixing of atomic orbitals of slightly different energy so as to redistribute their energy resulting in formation of new set of orbitals When two atoms combined together with third atom then the two bonds are formed known as hybridization this concept was put by pauling . he suggested that the atomic orbitals mix together to generate a new set of equivalent orbitals. these orbitals are used in bond formation. this phenomenon is called hybridisation |
