Blood drained from a convenient artery is pumped into a dialysing units (also called artifical kindney) after adding an anticoagulant like heparin. The unit contains a coiled cellophane tube surrounded by a fluid (dialysihg fluid ) having the same compostition as that of plasma except the nitrogenous wastes.
The porous cellophane membrane of the tube allows the passage of molecules based on concentration gradient. As nitrogenous wastes are absent in the dialysing fluid, these substances freely move out, thereby clearing the blood.
The cleared blood is pumped back to the body through a vein after adding anti-heparin to it.

Effective filtration pressure in glomerulus is caused due toA. Secretion of adrenalineB. Afferent arteriole is slightly broader than efferent arterioleC. Vacuum develops in proximal convoluted tubule and sucks the bloodD.

Effective filtration pressure in glomerulus is caused due toA. powerful pumping action of the heartB. secretion of adrenalineC. afferent arteriole is slightly wider than efferent arterioleD. vacuum develops in proximal convoluted tubule and sucks and blood.

Answer» Correct Answer - C
The diameter of afferent arteriole is larger than the efferent arteriole. This increases the volume of blood in glomerulus and increases the filtration rate. This causes the effective filtration pressure which is the total pressure that promotes filtration.
