• An agreement for Renukaji DAM Multipurpose Project was signed among six states on 11 JANUARY 2019.
• The six states are Uttar PRADESH, HARYANA, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand.

The RESERVE BANK of INDIA eased mandatory CASH requirement rules for banks to provide “durable liquidity” to the economy. RBI said that banks could 'carve out' up to 15% of holdings under the Statutory Liquidity Reserves to meet their Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) requirements as compared to 13% now. The relaxation in Statutory Liquidity Ratio requirement with effect from OCTOBER 1, 2018

AU Small FINANCE BANK has received an approval from RBI to operate as Scheduled Commercial Bank. On acquiring the status of Scheduled Commercial Bank, AU Small Finance Bank will now be ABLE to do borrowing and lending with RBI under Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) and Marginal STANDING Facility (MSF). Now, it can even issue Certificate of Deposits (CDs) at competitive interest rates.

Data released by the CENTRAL Statistics Office on Wednesday, showed that retail inflation was at 3.69 percent in AUGUST compared to 4.17 percent in July. Consumer price inflation fell below 4 percent for the first time in 2018. Inflation is CURRENTLY running below the MPC’s forecast of 4.6 percent in the second quarter of the CURRENT financial YEAR.

The Nepal Government has CONFIRMED that they will not join the first ever BIMSTEC military EXERCISE in Pune, Maharashtra. The field training exercise will be CONDUCTED between September 10 and 16 at the Foreign Training Node at Aundh in Pune. The BIMSTEC is a regional group comprising of BANGLADESH, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan, and Nepal.

Argentina has received the biggest loan package ever from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The loan amount of $57 BILLION will be disbursed over the next 3 years. The aim is to restore the Argentina's struggling economy. As per the loan agreement, IMF will only ALLOW Argentina’s CENTRAL bank to intervene to stabilize its currency if the peso depreciates below 44 pesos to the dollar.

• On 28 November 2018, Himachal Pradesh became the first state to launch a pan-India single EMERGENCY number '112'.
• Under this project, an Emergency Response Centre (ERC) has been established in Shimla along with 12 district command centres (DCCs).
• The ERC has been INTEGRATED with police (100), fire (101), health (108), and women (1090) helpline numbers to provide emergency services.
• NAGALAND is the first AMONGST the North-Eastern States and the second State in India to launch the emergency number '112'.

• The government of INDIA launched the 'Youth Road SAFETY Learners Licence' programme in New Delhi on 15 October 2018.

Facebook has appointed Ajit Mohan as Managing Director and Vice-President for its INDIAN operations. MR. The government appointed Rajni Kant Mishra as the Director-General of BORDER Security Force (BSF). Rajni Kant Mishra is the 1984 batch Indian Police Service officer of UTTAR Pradesh cadre. At present, Rajni Kant Mishra is the head of Sashastra SEEMA Bal (SSB). He will head the BSF till August 31, 2019.
