Many unaware of hepatitis infection –

23 July 2020- Jaipur

Many with Hepatitis are unaware they have got the virus. Claiming that Hepatitis B and C are life-threatening liver diseases, city doctors said on World Hepatitis Day that they examined 100 people, but found 80 of them not vaccinated against hepatitis and five were infected with the virus and they were unaware of it.

Also from samples collected at all the 85 recognized blood banks in the state, it was found that from April 2020 to March 20–, there were 6,965 people who were tested positive for Hepatitis B and they were unaware of it as they tried to donate blood. They could not do so as it would have transmitted the disease to the needy patient.

Similarly, for Hepatitis C, the figures were not so high, but 1,073 people were found infected with the Hepatitis C virus and they were not aware of it. They were tested positive when they donated blood. The blood banks rejected their blood and destroyed the samples.

Experts claim that 5% of people in the state are infected with Hepatitis B and C. The situation is not too alarming, but they claim that there is a need to create awareness of the disease among the people.

The Burning Train

25 June 2020- Ratlam,

Passengers of the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express had a narrow escape on Monday, when three of its coaches caught fire as the train was passing through Rajasthan.

The driver managed to stop the train in time at Thuria station and passengers of the burning cuaches were helped to safety.

The fire was noticed soon after the train, the Rajdhani Express had passed Alot station at 2.15 a.m.

By the time the train was stopped at Thuria, the flames, which had started from the pantry coach, had spread to the two adjoining AC three-tier coaches -B6 and B7.

The sleeping passengers were promptly woken up and helped to get off the train. No one was injured, but most of the luggage was burnt.

Garima Jindal, a passenger, said, “We were fast asleep when suddenly someone announced that a fire had broken out. Initially, we thought he was joking, but then everybody started running.” “We came out before the fire could spread,” said another passenger. “The driver took the right decision, else the blaze could have been massive.”

Firefighters managed to control the blaze after nearly two hours. The two burnt coaches were detached at Thuria. Railway authorities have announced an ex-gratia of 5,000 to each passenger of the two coaches.

Nine Lose Eyesight after Cataract Surgery

Golkund, 12 April
Nine people lost their eyesight after undergoing cataract surgery at a private hospital. The victims were shifted to the government-run Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Faridabad where the doctors said the retinas of the victims had been damaged and chances of regaining their eyesight were very less. Although the patients underwent the botched surgery six days ago, the incident came to light only on Sunday after the doctors of SD Eye Hospital confirmed the loss of eyesight. Four others, who also underwent the surgery at Amma Eye Hospital on March 22, are recovering at Shankar Eye Hospital near Guntur.

यहाँ प्राइवेट अस्पताल में मोतियाबिन्द के ऑपरेशन के बाद नौ लोगों ने अपनी-अपनी दृष्टि खो दी। दृष्टि खोये व्यक्तियों को Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital फरीदाबाद ले जाया गया जहाँ के डाक्टरों ने बताया कि ग्रसित लोगों की आँखों का रेटिना खराब हो गया है और आँखों में पुनः रोशनी आने के अवसर बहुत कम हैं। यद्यपि रोगियों की गलत सर्जरी छः दिन पहले ही कर दी गयी थी लेकिन इसके बारे में जानकारी इतवार को तब मिली जब SD Eye Hospital के डॉक्टरों ने आँख की रोशनी खत्म होने जैसी स्थिति को स्पष्ट किया। चार अन्य की सर्जरी Amma Eye Hospital में 22 मार्च को ही हुयी थी, उनका सफल इलाज गंटुर के नजदीक Shankar Eye Hospital में चल रहा है।

A Bank Robbery

There was a bank robbery in the Punjab National Bank of the city yesterday. A blue coloured Ambassador car stopped at the gate. Inside the car, there were six robbers. They had masks on their faces. They had guns in their hands. They entered the bank. They hit the guard on the head. He fell down. His head was bleeding. They threatened to shoot anyone who tried to raise an alarm. They locked the staff in a room. It is reported that they looted more than five lac rupees. Then they drove the car at a high speed. The police are trying to solve the case. But no clue has been traced out yet.

(राजस्थान पत्रिका की पत्रकार, रत्ना द्वारा) कल शहर के Punjab National Bank में डकैती हुयी। नीले रंग की Ambassador car गेट पर रुकी। उसमें (कार में) छः डकैत थे। वे (डकैत) अपने चेहरे को नकाब (masks) से ढके थे। उनके (डकैतों के) हाथों में बन्दूकें थीं। उन्होंने (डकैतों ने) बैंक में प्रवेश किया। उन्होंने (डकैतों ने) पहरेदार के सिर पर प्रहार किया। वह (पहरेदार) गिर पड़ा उसके (पहरेदार) सिर से खून निकल रहा था। उन्होंने (डकैतों ने) सभी को धमकाया कि यदि कोई खतरे की घंटी को बजायेगा तो सभी को गोली मार देंगे। उन्होंने (डकैतों ने) सभी कर्मचारियों को एक कमरे में बन्द कर दिया। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि डकैतों ने पाँच लाख से अधिक रुपये लूटे। इसके बाद उन लोगों ने (डकैतों ने) कार को तीव्रगति से चलाया और भाग गये। पुलिस डकैती की घटना को हल करने का प्रयास कर रही है लेकिन अभी तक कोई सुराग नहीं मिल पाया है।

Right To Education

Dear friends: As you know that Rajasthan govt has implemented the Right to Education Act since March 29, 2011. It is followed by the Act implemented by the Central govt in 2009. Under this Act, every child of age between 6 to 14 years has got a right to get free and compulsory education. The school has to focus attention to provide education to children of the weak and deprived section of society. Every private school has to give free admission to 25% of students from the weak and deprived group of society. No student will be declared fail. After passing the eighth class, the student will be provided with a certificate stating that the child has completed his elementary education.

प्रिय मित्रो: जैसा कि आप जानते हो कि राजस्थान सरकार ने शिक्षा का अधिकार कानून 29 मार्च 2011 से लागू कर दिया है। यह केन्द्र सरकार द्वारा लागू किये गये 2009 के कानून के अनुपालन में है। इस कानून के तहत 6 से 14 वर्ष के प्रत्येक बालक को मुफ्त व अनिवार्य शिक्षा प्राप्त करने का अधिकार प्राप्त हो गया है। विद्यालयों को अपना ध्यान समाज के कमजोर व वंचित वर्ग के बालकों की शिक्षा देने पर केन्द्रित करना है। प्रत्येक निजी विद्यालय को समाज के गरीब व वंचित वर्ग के 25 प्रतिशत बच्चों को मुफ्त प्रवेश देना होगा। किसी भी विद्यार्थी को अनुत्तीर्ण नहीं किया जायेगा। कक्षा आठ उत्तीर्ण करने के पश्चात बालक को एक प्रमाण-पत्र दिया जायेगा कि उसने अपनी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा पूरी करे ली है।

Various Stages of Man’s Life in your neighbourhood

My dear classmates, today I am going to present my views on various stages of a man’s life as described by Shakespeare in the poem ‘As You Like It’. When I see Monu, an infant in my neighbourhood, crying and puking in the arms of his nurse, I feel that in this stage man is really totally dependent on others.
And Monu’s elder brother who is never willing to go to school reminds me of the complaining schoolboy of the poem. And whenever I see Jeetu’s grandfather without teeth, eyes, taste etc, lying on the bed, I feel that Shakespeare has rightly divided man’s life into seven stages.

All over the world, parents, doctors and educationists are worrying about not only the weight that children have to carry but also the adverse effect it has on their backs, shoulders, and general health.
An average school day consists of eight periods usually of different subjects. Each subject requires the child to carry a textbook and several notebooks. Added to the several kilograms of books and notebooks are lunch-boxes, water-bottles, and sports equipment. Children end up carrying huge burdens on their backs. Parents and teachers have to pay attention to this situation. Thanks!

A Report on Cruelty to Animals

Leading personalities from various vocations have strongly come out against cruelty to animals. At a function held in the city under the leading NGO, ‘Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), celebrities from the film industry and a number of leading industrialists, including some NRI businesspersons, spoke against the inconsiderate treatment of animals. “We share the planet with these lovely, but mute creatures, who give us joy, work for us and give us many valuable things. Cant we give them a little consideration in return?” said a prominent leader. The speakers called upon the people to give care and affection to animals.

Pollution & Global Warming

Respected Principal, teachers and dear friends! It is a matter of deep concern that the world is standing on the verge of destruction. It has started from the mere cutting of just a small number of trees to fulfil a few basic needs of the people. But now it has resulted in massive deforestation. The invention of smoke producing vehicles from the initial bullock carts and cycles surely gave speed to life but it has now become a curse. We have come in direct contact with the ultraviolet rays of the sun, due to a hole in the ozone layer. This warming is causing the melting of glaciers which will result in the rise of the water level. It’s high time that the situation should be brought under control.

आदरणीय प्रधानाचार्य जी, अध्यापकगण एवं प्यारे मित्रो! यह एक गहरे सोच-विचार की बात है कि दुनिया विनाश के कगार पर खड़ी है। यह आदमी की कुछ मूल आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने के लिए मात्र कुछ पेड़ों के कटान से आरम्भ हुआ था। लेकिन अब यह भारी पेड़ कटान में बदल गया है। पहले चलने वाली बैलगाड़ियों और साइकिलों के स्थान पर धुआँ उगलने वाले वाहनों के आविष्कार ने जीवन को गति अवश्य दी है परन्तु प्रदूषण भी अभिशाप में दिया है। ओजोन परत में छेद होने के कारण हम सूर्य की पराबैंगनी किरणों के सीधे सम्पर्क में आ गये हैं। इस बढ़ते तापमान से ग्लेशियर पिघल रहे हैं जिससे पानी का स्तर बढ़ जायेगा। अब यही समय है कि स्थिति को नियंत्रित करना चाहिए।

A young student, Keerti was having her evening tea enjoying the rains. Suddenly she hears some noise and goes out to check. When she opens the door, she finds a small cat meowing as if pleading to be let inside. Keerti didn’t know what to do as she felt pity for the cat. The cat kept on meowing and finding Keerti silent, it ran inside to a safe and warm comer of the house. Keerti couldn’t find where the cat had hidden. She forgot about it and after finishing dinner with her parents went to her bedroom.

While she was rethinking about the! cat’s incident and was asking herself if she had done the right thing by being generous to the cat. Suddenly she heard a noise from the garden. When she opened the windows, she found the cat tearing at a snake’s head with it’s fingernails. Keerti realised the value of being generous and thanked God for having rewarded her for the generosity she showed towards the cat.
