Solve : more ram? |
|
Answer» i have ordered windows 7. but i need to upgrade my ram from 512 to 1024. With Vista, 2 GB of ram is only acceptable, so I can't say that I recommend anything less than that for Win7.Eh, I believe this is going to depend on what he normally does with his computer. I believe one of the gains with Win 7 is better performance with 1GB of RAM than Win Vista, at least compared to Vista pre-SP2. So, 1GB MIGHT be OK for him.Quote from: ivanoe on July 24, 2009, 04:17:42 AM i have ordered windows 7. but i need to upgrade my ram from 512 to 1024.semperon is not a computer manufacturer, it's a processor made by AMD. That's why you won't see it on the memory websites. Online memory SELLERS usually ask for make/model of computer or make/model of motherboard. Um, wasn't this OBVIOUS, by visiting the memory seller websites? If you don't know the make/model ..., use the scanner as suggested. |

Solve : Removing AS501 speakers?? |
|
Answer» My girlfriend's AS501 SoundBar basically died (sound will work PERFECTLY when I plug the headphones into the back of the CPU, but I hear NOTHING when I plug them into the SoundBar), so I figured the best course of action was to REPLACE it. I know it snaps on to the monitor easily, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to REMOVE it. Does anybody know how to get it off the monitor, or do I need some kind of special tool? Thanks in advance!I would check the monitor manuf.s' website for a manual... |

Solve : Toshiba Satellite a-100 Sceen Problems? |
|
Answer» Hi, I'm using a Toshiba Satellite a-100 laptop, on Windows XP, and have this odd problem that came out of the blue....The laptop screen has these weird black blotches on the RIGHT side, almost as if someone threw a bottle of ink at the screen, and some colored lines as well, I cant see anything past them, can only see a small part of the screen, I have a feeling I need to buy a whole new screen, but thought I would as about it here first..... Looks like something heavy was placed on the laptop while it was closed...Well, I can tell you for sure either didnt happen, it was just like that when I checked it in the morning..... So I assume you think I need a new screen?Absolutely. The screen is hosed. It's not anything else, as an external monitor works fine.Basic rule of thumb with anamolies on-screen, if they show up in a PrintScreen capture, it's either a program or the video card; if not, then it's the screen. The blotches and so forth are likely the LCD liquid; somehow it is no longer contained in the Squares (or however it is used). of COURSE the liquid, since it conducts electricity causes other problems (the lines). Ok, so its screwed then, thanx guys.... Have been coming here for years, and have never been steered wrong, before I run out and FIX something I like to check here first, thanx as always for the great SITE.... Thanx for the Thanx ! ! |

Solve : help with son's pc? |

Answer» all I know is that it is a VIA mainboard, Epia mini-ITX, and something about Samuel 2.westom quit acting like a prick to this guy and quit telling him some stupid answer. He can't afford to take it anywhere or buy a multimeter and quite frankly it's not that kind of an issue. And to svscofield I'm glad that you got your pc up and running again Quote from: brett74 on July 03, 2009, 01:49:22 PM westom quit acting like a prick In my experience, insulting this kind of person very rarely brings about any kind of penitence or reform. What are the chances, it's up and running and you didn't have to lay down a dime. Did you do anything to it's innards or did it just suddenly start working again?I found out that I COULD indeed get the dvd-rom to flip out of the way. One of you guys suggested that I make sure all of the connections from the power supply to the hdd were seated properly, which is what I did. I suspect that I might have to buy a new power supply in the next couple of months or else add on more fans: I had to KEEP the case open for a little bit to ensure it stayed running (it tried to quit a couple of times).Good to hear you are running... Apologies for all that spun your Topic out of control... Stop by anytime.Quote from: svscofield2 on July 04, 2009, 10:55:53 AM I found out that I could indeed get the dvd-rom to flip out of the way. I am so glad that you found a solution. Please come back again any time. westom, yes it is my business, I took an oath to protect those that can't protect themselves from the likes of you. You are dangerous, ignorant, and arrogant.glad that you were able to figure it out. Spite what he said a volt meter would be USEFUL in this case but you couldnt SAY that it would have been from the start, aside from that you wouldnt be sure what to do with things such as ohms,AC or DC readings. On behalf of the selected few, I present you with the offer of comeing back with a free issue.unfortunately I am back but thisone is interesting. daughter had left dinosaur digs cd-rom in the drive when she turned it off. I took it out (pc had booted correctly). I put in a disc called " operation mania" (a pogo to go game). we saw a warning box: lsass.exe endpoint format invalid. then I ended up with the BLUESCREEN of death and this statement: bad_system_config infoas this is a seperate issue. IT would be best to start a new thread, also well need the stop code for a sulition. |

Solve : StorageLabs TinyUDF Volume DVD, how do you get it to play on your PC?? |
|
Answer» I have a DVD-R video disc that my friend burned for me. It plays fine on his HP Touchsmart computer (from which he burned that DVD-R) and I can play it just fine on the pioneer DV-434 DVD player I have in my room just fine. I guess my computer's drive can't read the DVD structure of the disc with that StorageLabs TinyUDF thing. Nope. UDF is UDF, whatever the software used to control the burning. The problem is not due to StorageLabs. Maybe if your friend used a different type (+R or -R) or brand of disk that could solve the problem. I guess so, my DVD drive on my computer is a DVD+/-RW drive, should be able to read of all types but I understand not all DVD discs (burned) are readable on all drives or players and even when one DVD+R works fine, another may crash. Anyway, probably using a different DVDR format or a different brand may solve the problem. But in any case, thanks for the response, I was just wondering why my computer wouldn't play it but it's ok I guess if my standalone DVD player can play it and I can play the video ripped onto my HARD drive. If I wanted to though, I could just burn a copy myself onto a blank DVDR and it would be fine as WELL It's possible that the laser alignments don't sync up properly. If one is out one way, and the other is out the other way, but they are both 'on' enough to work independantly. Does the same problem exist with any other disks between the same two optical drives?Same two optical drives, which do you mean? Sorry, I kind of drifted off into vagueness I guess. I mean if the drive that the disk was written with is just slightly off in one direction, and the one you can't read it with is slightly off in another direction. The alignments can still be within tolerance enough to function fine, but they may have some trouble with the odd disk that is written on either one. I hope that explains what I mean a little better. It's 35C in my apartment right now and I'm sweating out my grey matter...Thanks Quantos, as long as my standalone DVD player plays the disc fine, I'm happy |

Solve : Computer switching itself off - overheating?? |
|
Answer» I don't think iNtel's ship with thermal paste applied.... I don't think iNtel's ship with thermal paste applied....The lowest thermal resistance is CPU direct to heatsink. Properly machined heatsink transfer most heat through that ‘two medium’ interface. A tiny amount of thermal compound will fill fewer holes. The ‘CPU to air pocket to heatsink’ (a three medium interface) has higher thermal resistance - is more like an insulator. If that air pocket has thermal compound, it is more conductive - but no where near as conductive as CPU to heatsink. Still is a ‘three medium’ interface. Thermal compound causes a single digit temperature reduction if using properly machined heatsinks. Most of the heat transfers directly ‘CPU to heatsink’. And most heat transfers only in the CPU center section. A poorly machined heatsink will have many more air pockets. Therefore thermal compound causes a greater temperature reduction. Thermal compound is not required (but usually used anyway) on better machined heatsinks. Essential to better heat transfer is very little thermal compound so that more of the heatsink makes direct contact to the CPU.Can you post new sets of temperatures? These are the new temperatures, taken whilst PLAYING the video game.. By the way, the thermal paste was already applied to the fan when purchased, ready for sticking onto the CPU ... I could see it when I pulled it apart to put it back on again. [attachment deleted by admin]Temps look fine to me Quote from: westom on July 08, 2009, 08:28:38 AM The lowest thermal resistance is CPU direct to heatsink. So now we should recommend NOT using Thermal Compound ? ? Sorry but that's unacceptable here...Quote from: patio on July 11, 2009, 08:29:24 AM So now we should recommend NOT using Thermal Compound ? ?Can you guarantee that a heatsink assembly marketed to people with minimal knowledge is poperly machined? Install the heatsink without thermal compound. Measure CPU temperature. Then repeat the installation with thermal compound. If that temperature decrease is double digits, then post the name of an inferior heatsink here. First thing viewed by anyone selecting a heatsink is the 'degree C per watt' number. How many do what the informed would do? Meanwhile test for a better heatsink is simple and not destructive. However in a world where Arctic Silver is hyped as superior, even that simple test would not be performed. (Yes, a swipe at Arctic Silver whose massively profitable thermal compound is only equivalent to less expensive thermal compounds.) heatsinks aren't machined as precisely as an optical telescope lens... and if they were they would be prohibitively expensive. Thus the trade-off of having slightly-less precisely machined heatsinks with something to fill in the gaps that would otherwise be filled with insulating air. We must also take account that the CPU would need to be just as precisely machined for even the most expensive lenscrafter heatsink to work properly, and Processors are expensive enough. Its far more economical to use thermal grease or paste for a fraction of the cost then to pay a premium for some utopian scenario where heatsink and processor have a perfect, airless fit. your theories are wild and based purely on conjecture. the ideal scenario's you specify would require insane amounts of extra precision passed onto the consumer in the form of a wildly inflated price margin, with little actual gain other then the knowledge that their heatsink and processor, for the additional hundreds of dollars, now do the same task as a 5 or 10$ thermal paste. Meanwhile, you shun the use of other products such as "monster cable" (which I agree is hugely overpriced) and "artic silver". Both "monster Cable" and "artic Silver" you claim are hugely profitable. While I don't doubt that less expensive products can perform a job at least on par with theirs, I have to refute that despite their similar function, they do use more expensive components... in a way, it's similar to a golden toilet seat. Doesn't actually improve the experience, and it's really cold. But it sure as heck raises the budget of your bathroom remodelling. Monster Cable, for example, USES gold plated contacts, perhaps because gold is the most conductive material- for this same reason higher end motherboards use gold plated connectors. Artic Silver's composition includes, surprisingly, Silver. Both of these, as I'm sure we all know, are precious metals which generally are more expensive then the more common materials. (honestly I wouldn't mind a "arctic Copper" or "arctic Aluminum" compound, Since the silver really doesn't have a huge benefit over them). But to call these products hugely profitable is to believe that it is merely the brand that the consumer is paying for, as opposed to the passed on price of the more expensive composition.Quote from: BC_Programmer on July 11, 2009, 09:34:03 AM heatsinks aren't machined as precisely as an optical telescope lens... and if they were they would be prohibitively expensive. So heatsink manufacturers and Intel application notes were only theories? Nobody said anything about machining for telescope tolerances. Why did you invent that myth? Many heatsinks sold to computer assemblers have the cheapest machining possible. Are they are SELLING on engineering numbers? Or price? Where is the ‘degree C per watt’ number? Why are you arguing about using no thermal compound? On better heatsinks, compound is unnecessary. Then use cheaper stuff (that is equivalent to overhyped Arctic Silver), so that CPU is a few degrees cooler (and so that crappy heatsinks stop causing problems). Will thermal compound prevent processor damage? Of course not. A bare heatsink mounted on the CPU does not create hundreds of degrees necessary to cause hardware failure. As stated by those who do this stuff, demonstrated by the equations, and documented in applications notes. If you have a problem, also provided was an experiment. Post your numbers. The point: thermal compound is overhyped by myth. Often will mask inferior machining on some heatsinks. Any heatsink, properly machined, should provide sufficient cooling to any CPU. And then add thermal compound for a minor decrease in thermal resistance - to reduce CPU temperatures by single digit degrees. If you have a problem with this, then post numbers from your experiment without and then with thermal compound. the only way it can be machined enough to make thermal compound unnecessary IS to machine it to telescpe tolerances. Why do I need to do the experiment? How about instead of throwing out theories, you post YOUR numbers using a "proper" heatsink WITHOUT thermal compound. You refer to documents. Well guess what, everything looks good in theory. Thermal paste was created as an economically feasible alternative to the more expensive usage of a "properly machined" heatsink. Besides, even if I posted the 80(c)+ temps of my Socket 7 K6-2 BEFORE applying thermal paste, and now the "magic" reduction to 29(c) With it, you'd only pass off the entire issue as a "improperly machined heatsink" each time, with no regard for the FACT that you cannot buy this mythical "Properly machined heatsink". Instead you troll on about spec sheets and equations, none of which actually exist. Then you insist that others post the numbers to prove wrong these non-existent spec sheets and "equations" with an experiment that, if anybody actually did it, you'd invalidate with the "fact" that the heatsink was improperly machined, so why bother. The real question is why WE have to perform these experiments. Your the one with the unconventional ideas that obviously need a reality check. try frying a few processors, then maybe you'll decide on using thermal paste. Unless your using a 386 (which doesn't need a heatsink at all) or a 486 (which could usually get away with just the heatsink) your the one vending the fantasy. Post YOUR numbers proving the conventional knowledge to be a "myth", instead of proving yourself a insipid pseudosoph and telling others to prove your hare-brained scheme wrong. A common myth says that a processor rated for 70 degrees C will be damaged if heated to 100 degrees C. Why is that 70 degrees C so low. Because timing and voltage thresholds change so much as to adversely affect its operation - not life expectancy. Some have confused timing changes with hardware damage for the same reason he attacks this poster rather than provide facts or knowledge based in a few generations of experience. So what happens if you put no heatsink on a Intel processor? Nothing destructive. Also well known. And just another reason why that heatsink experiment is peformed by those who would learn rather than just attack. |

Solve : Power Supply With 4-Pin Power Cable? |
|
Answer» I recently purchased a Dell Studio XPS 435MT with a 300+ watt power supply, which I feel is not sufficient for future upgrades. The power supply has all SATA cables for the HD, DVD reader & DVD ROM, along with an EXTRA unconnected cable marked P7. This power supply does not have a 4-pin power cable needed for the Asus Xonar DX audio card which I just purchased. What replacement power supplies do you recommend which have a 4-pin power cable long enough to REACH to the other side of the case where the PCIe audio card will be installed. My emphasis is on quality sound and I will be converting my vinyl LP collection to CDs & MP3 files.corndale, While of course it is your prerogative to solve your problem anyway you chose. However have you ever considered SIMPLY purchasing a SATA to ide power cable to connect to your existing SATA power supply cable (which you seem to have an abundance of)? There are also SATA to IDE data cables available as well (even some that combine data and power i believe). I had to do this recently and the cost was extremely inexpensive. Here is but one of many sources available for that cable. http://www.startech.com/product/itemlist.aspx?product_desc=sata+to+ide+power+cable&search.x=66&search.y=7 |

Solve : Memory/Motherboard probably overheating.? |
Answer» QUOTE from: Renderer on June 25, 2009, 12:31:27 PMI'll go look for the MemTest bootCD, but I don't think using a blow dryer will be necessary. The memory's always hot, even when computer's idle. What you call hot is called freezing cold to semiconductors. Is your memory so warm as to be uncomfortable to touch? That is ideal semiconductor temperatures for testing. Anything less means the failure must be worse to be found by Memtst. Back in the early 60s, I built a 'box' with an op amp - my first Op amp design. It got so hot as to worry me. So I went to datasheets. It did not leave skin - so it was not too hot. Since then, semiconductors have become more robust. For testing, you need it at least at 'HAIRDRYER on highest heat' setting. Warmer temperatures might detect more semiconductor problems. But you don't need it warmer. That hairdryer or a room at 100 degrees F should be sufficient to find an intermittent memory defect. what class was your Op-Amp? If you don't mind me askingQuote from: luck of the irish on June 25, 2009, 05:00:09 PM what class was your Op-Amp?Class A. Audio frequency.westom, what field of engineering are you in?Quote from: westom on June 25, 2009, 06:12:05 PM Class A. Audio frequency. Cool, Class A is good.Quote from: Quantos westom, what field of engineering are you in? It would probably be either sound engineering or electronic engineering Quote sound engineering This is cool, I used to do audio for quite a few different artists. AND THEN... a FLURRY of errors. this memory seems to be totally broken. It's amazing how I'm able to type and send this through this computer. (took me over 50 reboots to get windows AND firefox to load without the computer crashing/rebooting itself). http://yfrog.com/5jp1000767mjx Note: none of the MemTest instances finished to 100%. Each picture refers to a different test, until it froze/crashed. This solves my problem only partially. Hopefully, I'll get a memory that works, and hopefully it won't break down within a year and 2 months.Quote This solves my problem only partially. Hopefully, I'll get a memory that works, and hopefully it won't break down within a year and 2 months. Actually that could solve all of your issues. If the failed RAM is causing contact resistence that would account for the heat build up that you are seeing in Remote for SpeedFan. Memory fails, sometimes it fails new from the manufacturer, sometimes it fails because it's old. It's just something that we learn to live with. Just make sure that the RAM you replace it with is a known brand - I prefer Kingston.Quote from: Renderer on June 27, 2009, 12:51:07 AM Hopefully, I'll get a memory that works, and hopefully it won't break down within a year and 2 months. You have only *assumed* memory failure. Failure could be interface drivers inside memory or the mating drivers on motherboard, or connections between both. Those diagnostics only report the failure is not at a unique memory location. And that all failures are somewhere between memory and motherboard electronics only on that one bit line. Since memory has already been replaced, more likely is something else in that same circuit. That is what selective temperature changes (in conjunction with the memory diagnostic) would report. In another discussion, using the same diagnostic technique, that poster discovered a bent connector pin. Would not have found it if not told to look only where the diagnostics pointed to look. Just as likely to fail in TWO months is every other semiconductor inside that computer. Solution is to find it with simple diagnostics. That diagnostics even defines which memory contact and motherboard connector pin is involved in the failure. Easier is to use heat; to discover which side of that connector is defective. After installing some mushkin ddr memory, I'm back to SAY that I am sending this message from the newly repaired computer. I did break a few fan blades here and there, but after almost a month of hiatus, the computer's working. My assumption was right, it was the memory failing. I haven't checked the memory for failures, but at least I can boot the computer now. We'll see how long this new memory lasts. At least now I have lifetime warranty on it since it has mushkin warranty. Quote from: westom on June 28, 2009, 04:26:36 PM Just as likely to fail in two months is every other semiconductor inside that computer. Solution is to find it with simple diagnostics. Easier is to use heat; to discover which side of that connector is defective. So far, the memory is cool to the touch, which I find truly surprising. Your diagnosis might be right. I have not instelled heatsinks on them yet. (I have a pair of heatsinks unused.) Thanks to everyone that gave me input and helped me diagnose the prob. Note: DO NOT BUY FROM BZBOYZ.COM They sent me bad memory, failed to refund me, and I had to pay for return shipping. They refuse to refund the full cost of memory. Answer» Can you TRY again with the add-on card INSTALLED? If the computer was moved while being unplugged and plugged in it is POSSIBLE that the video card just became loose in the slot.Any bent pins on your monitor cable?...reseat your memory as well.Ill see if that works.tried it with and without the video card on the other monitor with no success. Also tried reseating memory and checked the pins on the cable. How old is the power supply?...It may be on the way out...Can you swap in a known good PSU?dont have an extra. it is 450 watt coolmax that is about 2 years old.any idea what the repeating green-red-red blinking lights mean?Well even though CoolMax is one of the better brands they can still go South... |

Solve : Keyboard Issues - User Specific? |
|
Answer» I'm having some crazy keyboard issues that are LITERALLY driving me mad. I had this issue a few months ago and I solved it by simply creating a new user in Vista. Essentially, whenever I open up a game, regardless of it being windowed or fullscreen, my keyboard bugs out. All my buttons are irresponsive unless I am holding shift, ctrl, or alt. To press "enter" I have to have my shift key pressed as well. The problem occured today while I was letting Mp3Gain adjust the volume of my Itunes library. I played a game of Prototype and left the house for a while, letting Mp3Gain run. When I came back and tried to play, the problem began. I HONESTLY don't know what could have occured HOWEVER if I can't solve the problem I'm doing a fresh install with 64 bit Vista, as I just recently UPGRADED from a Pentium D to a Core 2 Quad. |

Solve : CD ROM drive not working when connected? |

Answer» Whilst building a computer for the first time I have encountered a problem. The CD-ROM drive that i have connected does not work. The device itself POWERS up but only once i have disconnected the IDE CABLE. After plugging the IDE cable back in, the drive no LONGER works again. If you have tried other data cables and PSU's the drive itself has probably gone South..."cables and drives" What were these other drives that you REFER to? Connected to the same ide and power supply cable? truenorth |

I am not sure of uninstalling the drive and reinstalling since I don't have the original install disk. the driver can be downloaded from HP siteOptical drives don't need any extra drivers. Answer» I have a PROBLEM with both a printer and a CD. My printer stopped working so I tried purging the documents several times & then FINALLY decided to put the driver in and start all over. The weird thing is that I put the printer driver in and the CD driver won't start up. I tried some other CD DISKS and still no luck. I can't print and the CD component won't go. I haven't BURNED any Cd's either. |

Solve : I NEED A BIOS? |
|
Answer» What is inside this machine ? ?I had a similar problem with a Dell Optiplex GX260 which I had been given to repair. When the system was switched on, all that happened was the power button LED turned amber and not its usual green and the fans spun. No video output or any power going to connected devices. The problem was the processor. The processor had been stuck the the heat sink and the pins on the processor were not properly in place which was preventing the system from starting. After correcting this, the computer started without a problem. So I have a strong feeling that it is the processor in your computer which is causing the problem.I'm not sure what's in the computer, but I'll see if I can find out. How do I confirm that the processor is the problem, and how do I fix it if it is?Until you find out what's in there anything would be sheer guesswork.I have a PheonixBios (I FINALLY FOUND the chip) and an AMD Athalon 64 processor. both the lights on the front of the computer are on, and the monitor is receiving a signal, but it is going straight to "sleep" mode and won't come out.Try REPLACING the CMOS battery, they take a CR-2032, you can buy them almost anywhere. To locate the battery on the mother board locate something about the size of a nickel. Make sure that the computer is powered off, and that you are grounded to the computer at all times. You can accomplish that by just hanging on to the steel casing while you work.Quote from: Quantos on June 30, 2009, 08:17:06 PM Try replacing the CMOS battery, they take a CR-2032, you can buy them almost anywhere. Answer» I have a computer search program looking for INAPPROPRIATE material on my computer. However, after asking, the software does not search for Shockwave video or other flash video FILES on the harddrive. My QUESTION is: if a video under this format is watched on the computer (such as you TUBE), does the computer "save" it as it does a Realtime or WMP file? And if so, is there a way to search for it on the computer to SEE what has been viewed? |

Solve : Help me fix a laptop touchpad?? |
|
Answer» Recently the left button on my touchpad stopped working, I opened it up and found that theres a small dent in the small metal square encasing the sensor and basically the button is stuck in one position. How do I fix this? Is there any way to get the button back to it's original position?Quote from: sonicpanda123 on July 13, 2009, 08:18:03 PM Recently the left button on my touchpad stopped working, I opened it up and found that theres a small dent in the small metal square encasing the sensorThe 'sensor' is typically a microswitch. Unfortunately these SWITCHES come in numerous variations. You might search electronic supply houses for a switch of same height, pad MOVEMENT, and foot dimension. Your measurement will be in millimeters. And your HAND stable to solder that new switch in place. Switch costs pennies. Everything else is difficult. Better is to find a part numbers on that board. Search the INTERNET for a 'chop shop' that can sell that same board from a disassembled computer. |

Solve : How to install Windows XP on SATA Drive? |
|
Answer» I returned my Rosewill RC209 SATA CARD and purchased an IDE to SATA Adapter. I am now trying to install Windows XP on my 1TB SATA Western Digital Hard Drive. I am aware that Windows XP cant format on a SATA Drive without SATA Drivers. The problem is my motherboard doesnt support SATA as standard (reason why I bout IDE to SATA Adapter). I have no way of getting drivers for hard drive. XP asks for a floppy diskette but I dont have a floppy drive and I dont know what drivers to get since my motherboard doesnt support SATA. Im stuck. How do I install Windows XP on a SATA Hard Drive thats running off an IDE to SATA Adapter. THANX!!!!!I think that you need the floppy drive and drivers if you are instlling a RAID. I just formatted and installed XP on a SATA hard drive. It installed like it normally does. You should onl need the SATA drivers for install on an array of disks. To be honest we were a bit surprised that MSI doesn't have a version of the 648 MAX-F with onboard IDE RAID You may be out of luck trying it this way... so I cant run a SATA drive on my MSI 648 Max Motherboard cause I wont be able to get drivers? this is such a downer. Would I be able to run the drive with SATA drivers if i try installing Windows Vista or Windows 7 RC 1?You will need a SATA controller card to do so since the MBoard itself does not support SATA... Even then i give no guarantees on it working properly.Who did you purchase the motherboard from? Yes, this does matter, some resellers have better support than others. |

Solve : Dell Dimension motherboard? |
|
Answer» Hi. Could anyone please give me some advice. I need to get hold of a Dell Dimension 5150 motherboard, I have done some searches but to no avail. I don't want to buy direct from Dell due to a long winded recent problem. Can anyone suggest some online retailers who could get me a such board. Thanks Hi. Could anyone please give me some advice. I need to get hold of a Dell Dimension 5150 motherboard,There are not retailers. But many companies and third parties break down computers for resale - chop shops. Search by motherboard part number. I suggest eBay.eBay has Three Dimension 5150 MOTHERBOARDS listed.I dont recommend e-bay every. TRY vicom electronics, its where I GOT a board for my 4100 an there cost was good as well as shipping.Ok Thanks very much guys. I did an ebay search and found the boards, however these were and i think second hand boards or recons. I will CHECK out the others you mentioned . thanks again.your most welcome, thats what to be expect of e-bay. |
